World Seraiki Congress 2004
Posted by: admin on Sunday, April 25, 2004 - 12:00 AM
Announcements Dear Friends,

Let us begin the year 2005 with celeberation of Seraiki reet by organising a World seraiki Congress. I propose that we hold it in Multan in the first week of January 2005. It should be a one day event with sessions on Seraiki Heritage, Arts and Crafts, Culture and Land Scape, Poetry and Literature, Livelihoods , Media and Contemporary Research. I propose that Safder Baloch shuold facilitate this effort as Coordinator.

We need the help of all Seraiki Friends to help in making it a success.

1. Expression of interest by volunteers to organise the event. ( Safder should compile and update the list).

2. Formation of distraict volunteer committees to mobilize people for participation.

3. Nominations of invitees from all over the world with contact details to Safder to prepare a master list.

4. Nominations of speakers, writers, artists, poets, performers and dignitaries to be invited to speak/ perform/ present in different sessions.

5. Nominations for a Central Organizig Committee.

Safder can call a meeting of the Central Organising Committee one month from now to review the progress and we can finalize the plan of action leading to the main event.

Particpation in preparatory work will be on self help basis. Resource mobilization plan for the Congress will be made in the Central Organizing Committee meeting.

Thanks a lot,
Fayyaz Baqir
